variability, variationФенотипическая характеристика (см. также фенотип), проявляющая изменчивость, которую, однако, нельзя классифицировать на два ( или несколько) чётких класса.
Изменчивость, возникающая как следствие конкурентных отношений, складывающихся в популяции микроорганизмов (в частности, бактерий) между особями с различными генотипами.
Изменчивость, которая не проявляется у фенотипов благодаря подавлению проявления соответствующих признаков в силу явлений доминирования.
Фенотипическая изменчивость (см. также фенотип), не регулируемая искусственно.
